Director of Bands and Marching Specialist
Mrs. Staznik has experience teaching band at all levels, including high school, middle school and elementary school. Her former position was the Director of Bands at Warwick High School and Warwick Middle School. While there, she directed the Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Marching Band and Jazz Band. She also taught Music Theory I and II. She is excited about joining the Avon Grove Band team and is most looking forward to meeting the band members and band parents. The Avon Grove Band members have accomplished great things and Mrs. Staznik is looking forward to continuing to build on the Avon Grove Band's history of success.
Mrs. Staznik loves all kinds of music, ice cream, chocolate, band jokes, the color red and is ADDICTED to coffee. She has a great husband who is a professional percussionist.
Under her direction, the Warwick Marching Band students have had a lot of fun and have been very successful - capturing the first place position at Championships. In addition, the drumline and pit have won numerous "Best Percussion" awards, the colorguard has won the "Best Auxiliary" award and the brass and woodwinds have won the "Best Music" award at many competitions. The entire band has won the "Best Marching" award each season.
Just as exciting are the Jazz Band and Symphonic Band, both of which have grown under Mrs. Staznik's direction. The bands have earned multiple awards at Festivals and students have earned spots in the PMEA District, Region and All State Band.
Mrs. Staznik graduated Summa Cum Laude from West Chester University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education. While in college, Mrs. Staznik performed at major stadiums across the United States for two years as a member of the (DCI World Class) Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps, based in San Antonio, TX. During her time in the Crossmen organization, Mrs. Staznik was awarded the “Outstanding Member Award” and received the Crossmen Scholarship. In total, Mrs. Staznik has marched 11 seasons of marching band and drum corps.
Prior to teaching in the Warwick School District, Mrs. Staznik was a band director in the Downingtown Area School District. She spent three years on the band staff for the Downingtown West High School Marching Band and also worked with the Downingtown High School Indoor Drumline. In 2007 and 2008, Mrs. Staznik was the Director of the CrossmenXtreme Drum Corps.
Mrs. Staznik completed a Masters of Music degree at the American Band College in July 2011. She can't wait to meet all the Avon Grove band members and to help make 2011 one of the most fun and most successful years for the Avon Grove Band!
