| Avon Grove Red Devil Marching Band The Avon Grove School District in West Grove, Pennsylvania is
proud to present the Avon Grove High School Red Devil Marching Band, performing their 2011 production Battle Cry: The Legend of Joan of Arc. The program is presented in five movements.
Movement 1: Adventure Join us as we introduce the engaging story of Joan of Arc, a peasant girl born in eastern France who led the French army to many important victories during the Hundred Years' War. Movement 2: Mysterium Depicting a mysterious mood, our story develops as Joan experiences visions directing her to recover her homeland from English domination. Movement 3: Action This fast-paced rhythmic movement depicts the conflict between the English and French armies and the ultimate success of Joan of Arc as she leads the battle, chasing the English from their strongholds. Movement 4: Sacrifice A time for reflection and loss, this movement depicts the English capture of Joan, leading to her ultimate sacrifice. Movement 5: Victory and Jubilation The final movement is a celebration of the legacy of Joan of Arc that survives for centuries after her death. Sweeping and grandiose moments bring the Legend to a rousing conclusion. The Avon Grove High School Band, under the direction of Mrs. Rebecca Staznik, is in its fourth year as a competitive band. The band is led onto the field by drum majors Anthony Constantini and Sam Heiger and colorguard captains Sara Shores, Karling Douthat and Michelle Hossler. The band's Leadership team includes section leaders Kat Bralla, Lauren Miller, Lauren Deckman, Melissa Johnson, Kimberly Shankwitz, Rebekah Neale, Cara Hutter, Alex Mariner, Travis Eddy, Jack Heiger, Seana Miller, Meredith Miller, Sarah Wood, Paul Sharp, Davey Toole, Connor Lamson, Andrew Trimble, Mike Clark and Haley Cowan. Instructional Staff and Design Team Members for the Avon Grove High School Marching Band include Band Director Rebecca Staznik, Colorguard Designers and Instructors Michelle Adcock and Adam Albright, Percussion Caption Head, Arranger and Instructor Gabe Staznik, Drumline Assistant Brent Behrenshausen and Pit Percussion Instructor Sean Rode. Drill was written by Nathan Holland and music composed by Sean Wagoner for Center X Productions.
